Political Advocacy and Public Sector Partnership

The CWRC is actively involved in political advocacy and lobbying efforts aimed at educating stakeholders about the critical need for mitigation work and protection against wildfires, rather than solely focusing on securing funding. We collaborate closely with public sector partners, community leaders, and public safety specialists to raise awareness about the importance of implementing measures to enhance community and forest resilience. Through various platforms such as podcasts, publications, summits, and workshops, we promote best practices and share knowledge to address gaps in post-disaster support. Additionally, we assist at-risk communities in forming partnerships and coalitions with elected officials, public safety agencies, and non-governmental organizations at both state and federal levels, emphasizing the urgency of wildfire mitigation efforts. Our goal is to empower communities to actively engage in decision-making processes and advocate for the implementation of effective strategies for wildfire prevention and protection. As a voice for these communities, we prioritize education and awareness-building to drive meaningful action towards mitigating the risks posed by wildfires.
