Welcome to Community Wildfire Resiliency Coalition

Welcome to the Community Wildfire Resiliency Coalition (CWRC). We are dedicated to building wildfire-resilient communities and forests through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and comprehensive forest management strategies. At CWRC, we understand that protecting our communities goes hand in hand with safeguarding our forests. Therefore, we prioritize the preservation and sustainable management of forested areas alongside our efforts to enhance community resilience.

CWRC believes in the power of collaboration. By working together, we can protect the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) and mitigate wildfire risks more effectively, ensuring both the safety of our communities and the longevity of our forests.

CWRC focus areas are:

Collaboration & Coalitions:

- Fostering collaboration between government agencies, local communities, non-profit organizations, and private sector stakeholders.

- Sharing resources, expertise, and coordinating efforts effectively.

Watershed Restoration:

- Work with private landowners and federal agencies to implement ecological prescribed fire projects, enhancing landscape resilience and promoting ecosystem health.

Forest Management:

- Partner with government agencies and private contractors to develop and implement forest management plans, including forest thinning, pruning, hand piling, and prescribed fire projects.

Fire Resilient Communities

-Promoting ember-resistant roofing, fire-resistant landscaping, and ember-proof vents.

-Strengthening residences against wildfire threats for safer communities.

Workforce Training:

- Building a skilled local workforce to support wildfire mitigation and sustainable land management practices.

Education:

- Empowering communities with knowledge and resources through comprehensive outreach programs.

Let's Collaborate

CWRC invites individuals, organizations, communities, tribes, cities, state, and federal agencies to join us in our mission to build wildfire-resilient communities and forests. By fostering partnerships, promoting forest thinning and prescribed fire, and implementing comprehensive strategies, we can mitigate the impacts of wildfires and create safer, more sustainable environments for all. Our initiatives, programs, and projects span California and the northwest, focusing on forest and watershed restoration.
